One evening, my father's telephone rang. He picked it up and when he finished talking I asked who it was, but he didn't answer. After a while, he asked me and asked if I would like to move to a new country. I said, "Yea, but it depends on which one". He looked at me and the whole family and told us that his boss called and at that moment, I knew it ... I knew we were going to move somewhere new from our African home. My mother then asked what he said, but my Dad didn't know where to start, so I said. "We got, I mean you got, a new job... right?" He nodded and said, "Yes" As soon as he said that, my brother asked where we would be going and my father said, "Dresden in Germany". He also said that if we wanted to go, we had to decide by tomorrow morning. So we got out our laptops and started searching on how the Hilton Hotels looked in Dresden and how Dresden itself looked. We decided to go, but we needed to keep it secret for one whole week. It was very hard for me since I am a total extrovert. I managed six days and then finally the week ended and we told everyone I had to tell my friends, It was so hard to tell them. I didn't know where and how I should start.

March 18, 2005, we were on our way to Dresden in Germany. It was the first time going to Dresden. My father said that it would be cold, while in Africa it was 38 degrees. I just wore a pair of shorts a tank top and flip-flops. When we were in the plane, a woman said that we might be crazy since we were dressed so weirdly and that and everyone else was dressed with big thick coats. When we arrived we looked out the window and saw it was snowing and there we were with shorts and flip flops.
